Top 9: Chris Pine
In honour of Chris Pine’s birthday, we’ve compiled a list of his top 9 best films (in no particular order obvs). Drum roll please…
1. Wonder woman
Plot:
Chris Pine plays the mega sexy role of an American Pilot who informs a princess (lucky, much?) of a massive conflict, and convinces her to fight alongside him. Like, same. We’d totally go to war for you, Christopher. Basically, he empowered Wonder Woman to turn from a princess into a warrior. We love you Chris. (*ugly crying*)
Fun Fact:
In order to give emphasis to Wonder Woman as a leading woman in the movie, Pine took on a the role as the titular hero. (That means she was boss, for those of you still laughing about the first syllable… you know who you are)
2. Unstoppable
Plot:
They had us at Chris Pine and Denzel Washington… This film is more intense than trying to open the microwave before it hits 0. You literally won’t be able to relax. He plays the role of a young conductor on a train that has derailed. (FYI, the train is packed with toxic chemicals that can wipe out a large population of people.)
Fun Fact:
This fact will make you love Chris Pine even more! (Is that even possible, tho?) Did you know he performed all of his own stunts? Actual hero. *heart eyes*
3. Just my luck
Plot:
This is, like, the ultimate teenage rom-com, c’mon, it’s Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine together. Do you even know how amazing that is? Chris basically ruined her life after one kiss (we know the feel, babes). He literally exchanged his bad luck and made her life hell. Not the typical knight in shining armour, but y’know what makes up for it? His face. Also, McFly.
Fun Fact:
Believe it or not, Chris originally wanted to avoid getting into the acting. His family recognised his potential and knew all the right people to bring us a world with Chris Pine in it . Imagine if we didn’t have this Pine tree. Ugh. (OR SOMETHING TO DO WITH THIS BEING ONE OF HIS FIRST ROLES? IDK)
4. This Means War
Plot:
Chris goes head to head with his best friend and partner in crime, as they both realise that they’re dating the same girl. These CIA operatives both use their skills and abilities to sabotage one another in a fight to get the girl of their dreams. It’s meant to be pals before gals but…
Fun Fact:
Another ending to this film was Tom Hardy winning Reese Witherspoon, but we all know it’s Chris over anyone anyways.
5. Rise of the Guardians
Plot:
Chris Pine dances in snow as everyone’s fave mischief maker, Jack Frost. He joins with the immortal guardians to take down the bad guy, Pitch Black (*everyone boos*). He helps to restore magic, to make the children believe in them again. We even love Chris Pine in animated form too.
Fun Fact:
In order to capture the inner child to voice 14-year-old Jack Frost, Leonardo DiCaprio was first chosen by the executive producer to do the voice over. However, Chris was picked in the end even though it received mixed reception. It’s okay Chris, you made it believable.
6. Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement
Plot:
Good ol’ Chris plays exactly the kind of man we need – an heir to the throne. Hearing that there’s a chance of the position becoming available he decides to head to Genovia to claim it, but ends up getting something much better… love. #Adorbs. IKR! He falls for Princess Mia who can’t trust his motives, but can trust her heart…
Fun Fact:
This Disney movie was his first ever role in a film. We’re proud of you Chris, you make acting look so easy.
7. Into the woods
Plot:
Chris sticks to the role of Prince Charming in this epic musical. Into the Woods is a modern twist of classic fairy tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel – all tied together by another original story involving a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child but are cursed by the witch they have crossed paths with. Also, singing.
Fun Fact:
In this film, he actually plays Prince Charming and was referred to as Prince Charming as his character in The Princess Diaries 2. We’re betting he gets referred to as Prince Charming in real life too.
8. A Wrinkle In Time
Plot:
This fantasy film is about Meg and her siblings who set out to search for their father (Chris) who is a physicist who spent years studying and researching the mysteries of the space-time continuum. Bit of a change from managing McFly and chasing princesses.
Fun Fact:
The films multiracial family dynamic was one of the many features that had him enticed him to play a role in the film even more. YAAAS we lurve you boo!
9. Star Trek: Into Darkness
Plot:
Chris stars as the leader of a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a man (within their own organisation) capable of mass destruction. How dare he snake our Chris like that?!
Fun Fact:
A scene where Chris woke up in between 2 alien-like girls had creeped him out so much because he has a HUGE fear of spiders. We feel your Chris, you ain’t the only one.
