Desiree Akhavan Presents: A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014)

As part of our Women in Film series, and to celebrate the release of her brilliant new film The Miseducation of Cameron Post, we’ve teamed up with the incredibly talented writer/director/actor Desiree Akhavan to select a few of her favourite female-driven films, screening every Tuesday in August.

Described by writer-director Ana Lily Amirpour as the love-child of Sergio Leone and David Lynch, with Nosferatu as a babysitter, A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night is a stunningly original genre mash-up about a skateboarding vampire and her misadventures in the fictional ghost town of Bad City.
